Helvetica: A Documentary Film by Gary Hustwit
When i first heard someone was doing a movie about Helvetica i got SO excited. Even though it was my typography teacher and Mentor's least favorite font, it has been one of my favs for years. It's just all round useful and readable and not too anything.
I love it - to say the least
To say the most - Now I think i love it even more.
The movie was great. And like any great documentary, not just interesting to those already interested in the subject. Not just a movie for design geeks who drool over the smell of new paper and creme at the thought of getting a letterpress job. This is a movie about a font, a young font in the grand scheme of things, a font that is the subject of great debate amongst designers. See this Movie. It is Fun.
When it comes to your city, be sure to try and see it. if nothing else, you'll know a little more about what makes us weird designers tic.

If you knew you had one week to live, what would you do, where would you go, who would you see?
Submitted by normatheartistOn the side of easy questions, i'd grab derek and head up to see my mom. And there we'd stay, cozy and warm and talking about all the things we've always wanted to talk about. but never did.
